In conjunction with World Suicide Prevention Day, the Hartford HealthCare Behavioral Health Network is hosting a virtual class to address suicide prevention in youth and adolescents with a focus on marginalized communities on Friday, September 9, 2022, from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
In this free virtual session, hear from experts in the field of suicide prevention who will discuss mental health awareness, current data trends related to suicide, how to identify signs of increased risk for suicide, and treatment interventions. They will also talk about available resources for those who may be struggling, family and loved ones.
The key presenter will be Wizdom Powell, PhD, MPH, Chief Social Impact and Diversity Officer at Headspace Health and Research Associate Professor of Psychiatry at UConn School of Medicine.
The program will also include a panel discussion of people with lived experience sharing their personal stories. The panel will be followed by a question and answer session.
