Ocean State Job Lot Donates Massage Chair to CHH

In appreciation of all of their hard work during the COVID-19 pandemic, the caregivers at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital now have a new premium massage chair to enjoy thanks to the generosity of the Ocean State Job Lot charitable foundation.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Ocean State Job Lot for this kind gesture.” said John J. Capobianco, Regional Vice President of Operations at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. “This past year has been an unusually trying time for everyone, especially for those on the frontlines.  This opportunity to provide our staff with a brief respite is invaluable.”

Before the start of every massage, the chair accurately maps the users back, analyzing the contours of back muscles and spine. This ensures a more consistent massage pressure throughout the session, so that no area of back is neglected. The chair has been placed at the hospital’s new training center and is now available for all CHH staff to use at their convenience.

The foundation has distributed the fourth-generation massage chairs, valued at nearly $7,000 each and designed by Osaki Corp., to hospitals throughout the Northeast. It has a long history of philanthropic leadership, supporting numerous causes, including feeding the hungry, helping the homeless, assisting veterans and military families, aiding animal rescue, caring for children, advancing healthcare, supporting the arts and promoting learning. Ocean State Job Lot is headquartered in North Kingstown, R.I.

“Healthcare workers have been putting their lives at risk during this crisis, which places them under incredible stress.  We are happy to be able to provide this token of appreciation for their dedication and sacrifice,” said Marc Perlman, Principal Owner and CEO, Ocean State Job Lot.
