Each summer, motorcycle enthusiasts and supporters enjoy an annual charity “Ride for Recovery” to benefit Natchaug Hospital Adult Ambulatory Programs and the Veterans Base Camp of Chaplin, Connecticut. Fun for a good cause makes up this police-escorted, one-hour benefit ride through five towns ending with a celebration and pig roast.
The 2022 Ride for Recovery this past August raised $6,835. The funds raised are split each year between the Natchaug adult ambulatory programs and the Veterans Base Camp in Chaplin.
The ride is sponsored by Natchaug Hospital and the MFC Motorcycle Club East Conn Chapter, which is comprised of military, firefighters, and law enforcement personnel. This group of likeminded individuals come from all over the state to host and support fundraisers for local charities and non-profit organizations.
Natchaug Hospital Adult Ambulatory Programs provide clients with structured clinical treatment for their psychiatric or chemical dependency issues without inpatient care. Veterans Base Camp is a grass roots, faith-based charitable nonprofit organization dedicated to providing resources to veterans, first responders, caregivers and the most vulnerable in the community.
